Privacy Policy — Layer
Last updated: July 13, 2026
Layer ("App") is operated by SKAISTART, OOO ("we", "us"). The App helps parents and guardians choose appropriate clothing for children based on weather. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Audience: The App is intended for adults (18+). Parents enter information about their children; the App is not directed at children to use on their own.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive identifiers such as your email address and display name through Firebase Authentication. Your sign-in provider may also supply a profile photo URL; we use it only when Premium is active (see Photos below).
- Parent profile (optional): First name you choose in Settings. Profile photos are available only with an active Premium subscription or trial.
- Child profiles: Names, birth dates, gender, optional avatar photos (Premium only), and icon preferences you enter for your children.
- Wardrobe and capsules: Clothing metadata (type, season, size, colors, etc.), saved outfit sets, and photos you add for wardrobe items (Premium features).
- Location: Approximate or precise device location to show local weather. You may deny location permission and select a city manually.
- Photos (Premium): On the free tier, the App does not display or upload profile, child, or wardrobe photos. With Premium, you may add images from the camera or photo library for child avatars, parent profile, or wardrobe items. We may also save your Google or Apple profile photo as your parent avatar when Premium starts, if you have not uploaded a custom photo. Selected images may be sent to our servers for automated analysis (e.g. clothing type or material) to improve recommendations.
- App settings: Preferences such as language, temperature units, and selected child profile.
- Subscription status: Purchase and entitlement information processed by the Apple App Store and provided to us through RevenueCat (e.g. whether Premium is active). We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Device and usage data: Firebase Analytics events (e.g. feature usage, paywall interactions) and, if you allow notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to send optional reminders (e.g. subscription grace period, birthday).
- Advertising identifier (free tier only, when ads are enabled): Google AdMob may use device advertising IDs to show non-personalized or personalized ads according to your platform settings and applicable consent rules.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide weather forecasts and clothing recommendations
- Sync your profiles, wardrobe, and capsules across devices when you are signed in
- Process subscriptions, trials, and restore purchases
- Send optional push notifications you can disable in system settings
- Operate grace-period reminders and data export before account media purge
- Improve reliability, security, and product features (including aggregated analytics)
- Show ads on the free tier when ads are enabled in the App
3. Where Data Is Stored
- On your device: Some data may be cached locally (e.g. SQLite) for offline use or before cloud sync.
- Cloud (signed-in users): Child profiles, wardrobe, capsules, parent profile fields, subscription/grace timestamps, and FCM tokens are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore). Premium photos are stored in Firebase Storage under your account path.
- Retention after subscription ends: If Premium ends, you may retain read-only access to wardrobe and previously uploaded photos for a grace period (typically 90 days). During grace you can export a backup where the App offers export. After grace, cloud photos and related media may be deleted automatically.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase: Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Analytics, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config
- RevenueCat: Subscription and purchase management
- Apple / Google: Sign-in and Apple App Store in-app purchases
- Weather and advice services: Weather data and recommendation APIs hosted on our Firebase backend

These providers process data under their own privacy policies and our instructions where applicable.
5. Legal Bases (EEA/UK users)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the App), legitimate interests (security, analytics, improvement), and consent where required (e.g. location, notifications, ads where applicable).
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access, correct, or delete data through in-app settings where available
- Delete your account and associated cloud data via the App
- Export wardrobe/photo backup during grace period where offered
- Deny location, camera, or notification permissions in device settings
- Cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
- Request information or deletion by contacting us (see Section 9)
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures including Firebase security rules, HTTPS, and access controls tied to your account. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. International Transfers
Data may be processed in countries where our service providers operate (including the United States). We use providers that offer appropriate safeguards where required by law.
